Buzzy Baltimore hardcore punkers Turnstile have collaborated with the Toronto jazz outfit BadBadNotGood for three surprise reimaginings of three tracks from Turnstile’s 2021 album Glow On.
“Mystery” gets mellow while incorporating flashes of flute, “Underwater Boi” gets an uptempo bongo drum-driven percussive makeover, and “Alien Love Call” is transformed into a lazy dub reggae rhythm while Blood Orange’s vocals hover above the mix and a winding guitar solo rips. It’s my favorite of the lot.

BBNG‘s version of “Alien Love Call” is taken from the New Heart Designs EP, out now via Roadrunner.
