Diggin’ This: Kazu – “Salty” (Adult Baby Records) (Official Video)

A salient point well made.

With an intro that reminds me of the outlandish guitar whine that underscores all of Noisey’s British Masters videos (see here to hear what I mean), “Salty” by Elba Island, Italy-via-New York City-via-Kyoto musician and Blonde Redhead vocalist Kazu (Makino) is an ethereal yet ruminative yet gentle gallop, sung in English and Japanese, with contributions from Ryuichi Sakamoto and Son Lux drummer Ian Chang.

Track (and video) of the day.

“Salty” is taken from Kazu‘s forthcoming new solo album via her own label Adult Baby Records. Check out more incredible music from Japan as previously featured on DanDigs.com here.
