Finally.

One of my very favorite musical outfits, the Cinematic Orchestra make a welcome return in 2019 with “A Caged Bird/Imitations of Life,” taken from their first album in 12 years (12 years!), To Believe.

Clocking in at 6min 54sec, the duo otherwise known as Jason Swinscoe and Dominic Smith have created a rich and opulent new single as expected, enlisting the vocal talents of “All Things to All Men” MC Roots Manuva and taking the listener on a gilded, meditative journey guided by orchestral strings (naturally), synth bleeps, uptempo drums, and pensive piano keys.

Track of the day.
