Set to be his biggest tune since Hyph Mngo.”

So very simple and so very effective, Joy Orbison‘s brand new track is a free-falling low-end monster.

Explaining the track in a Facebook post, Joy writes, “Flight FM” took on a bit of a life of its own. I started making it while waiting for my mate Fold to pick me up and drive down to Lost Village. It sounded good in the motor and with a little bit of encouragement I decided to play it.

I’m always wary of playing new ideas ‘cos you run the risk of completely losing faith in it before you really make sense of it. But luckily it went down well which spurred me on to finish it.

It quickly became a big moment in my sets and even Four Tet started battering it after hearing me play it in New York (thank you, mate x).

The track name is a nod to one of the few pirate stations (alongside Flex FM & Kool, if i stretched the aerial far enough) I could pick up clearly when i was growing up… well that and my love/hate relationship with ✈️
