Diggin’ This: Sam O.B. – “Indian Summer” (Astro Nautico)

Sam O.B. is “a smooth soul trying to bring positive noise into the modern world.”

I’ve been a fan of the New York musician Sam O.B., formerly known as Obey City, since I first heard “Ronin Strut” back in 2012 and was charmed by his bright, 80s-tastic rework of Lido’s “I Love You” in 2014.

Fitting for a producer who seemingly brings an encyclopedic knowledge of music history to every composition, the carefree “Indian Summer” is a winning amalgamation of 70s West Coast AOR, 80s FM radio soul, and 90s folktronica.
