Diggin’ This: Micatone – “Where Do You Belong?” (Sonar Kollektiv)

 

I first got switched on to Micatone when I heard the mellifluous “Sweet Child” on a mix CD that Gilles Peterson put together for Muzik magazine back in 2003.

 

(The track, and the entire mix, continue to be an excellent listen 20 years later.)

 

 

 

Now, after a six-year break, the German nu jazz outfit fronted by Boris Meinhold and Lisa Bassenge returns to Sonar Kollektiv with new song “Where Do You Belong?” with drums courtesy of Jazzanova’s Stefan Leisering.

 

 

Soothing.
