I first got into the sounds of Los Angeles artist Arima Ederra when I heard her track “Questions” almost a decade ago.

 

 

Ten years on, her latest song, “Portals,” is a simple and stripped-down tale of yearning that features co-production and guitar from Jon Bap.

 

 

As Arima puts it, “Portals is a message about longing to be longed for. How humility guided me through a portal back to myself after heartache. It’s about confronting why the absence of love seems to be the only time we realize we’re out of time to say how we earnestly feel.”
