Diggin’ This: Stereolab – “Robot Riot” (Duophonic UHF Disks/Warp Records)
A previously unreleased track from one of my very, very, very favorite bands.
With its supple guitar chords, synth whirrings, French lyrics, and driving drums, “Robot Riot” encapsulates the classic Stereolab sound, which is to say it sounds truly fantastic.
The song was originally written for sculptures made by Charles Long, an artist with which Stereolab had previously collaborated for the Music For the Amorphous Body Study Center project.
Stereolab – “Robot Riot”
“Robot Riot” is taken from Stereolab‘s latest installment of the group’s Switched On compilation series, Pulse Of The Early Brain [Switched On Volume 5], which is out September 2 via Duophonic UHF Disks/Warp Records.
