“Can I phone a friend to tell them how good this is, Chris?”

Huge fan of this Liverpudlian leftfield pop quartet that take their off-kilter melodic sensibilities and cut-and-paste cues from such luminaries as the Avalanches, Odelay-era Beck, Glass Animals, Everything Everything, Superorganism, and Jai Paul, whose “Str8 Outta Mumbai” is sampled (with official approval from JP himself no less, and which in turn samples Vani Jayaram’s “Bala Main Bairagan Hoongi”) to form the rhythmic backbone of the kitchen-sink kaleidoscopery of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”

Highly recommended if, like me, you’ve been recently grooving to the sounds of SAULT and/or Peter Cat Recording Co.

Track of the day. Check out the video below.
