Dan Digs Live: DJ Set Opening for James Lavelle at the LA Premiere of “The Man from Mo’ Wax” at the Regent Theater in DTLA
Somewhere in space (or in DTLA at least) this may all be happening right now.
Was a blast DJing before James Lavelle at the LA premiere of “The Man from Mo’ Wax” at the Regent Theater in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday night.
It also was a blast providing beats for Money Mark and his Echolodeon project live on stage. Check out the video below.
Huge thanks and large big ups to all the headz that came through. Had to pull out some vintage Mo’ Wax gems and aired some of my own reworks. Thanks to Jonathan Rudnick and Los Guapos for putting on a great night.
Here’s the tracklist:
DJ Shadow – “What Does Your Soul Look Like Pt. 1” (Prince Paul Mix)
James Blake – “Curbside”
Dr. Octagon – “Blue Flowers”
Deflon Sallahr – “…Don’t Fake It”
Ghostpoet – “LoveConfusion” (ATCQ Electric Relaxation Flip)
Flying Lotus – “Putty Boy Strut”
Little Simz – “Offence”

If you haven’t seen The Man From Mo’ Wax yet, you really should. It’s one of the best and most honest music docs I’ve seen and features Thom Yorke, DJ Shadow, Joshua Homme, Gilles Peterson, Futura, 3D of Massive Attack, Ian Swift, and many, many more influential artists.
In other news, you can watch the video of when I interviewed James Lavelle for Episode 1 of the series Backstage with Dan Digs here.
