This week we spoke with one of my very favorite bands, Hiatus Kaiyote, on the floor of the El Rey Theatre right after their soundcheck. We talked about the origin story of how the group came together, why so many great bands come out of Melbourne, Australia, and the meaning behind “By Fire,” my favorite song on their new album, Choose Your Weapon.
