Diggin’ This: <KAEB (Geoff Barrow from Portishead) ft Jonwayne – "There’s No One" (Official Video)
Bristol, England’s Geoff Barrow—best known for being a founding member of the band Portishead—has just released a split EP featuring two tracks from his other band BEAK> and—plot twist!—two tracks from BEAK>’s “alter-ego”: <KAEB, which is really BEAK> plus “an ever expanding and floating membership.”
The fourth song on the split EP is “There’s No One.” Featuring vocals from LA’s Jonwayne, the track plays out like an extended jam session with a plodding Portishead-ish vintage bassline, a blue-iced vocal hook, and plenty of ride cymbal splashes weaving in and out of Jon’s stream-of-consciousness poetry.
Track of the day.
