Open Mike Eagle Freestyles over James Blake’s “Curbside” Live on the Dan Digs Show (Video)

L.A.-via-Chicago art-rap aficionado Open Mike Eagle stopped by the Dan Digs Show on Dash Radio last Sunday to play some of his favorite records for the #SixSongScenario.

After we spun the song that made him want to make music, the song with the best beat, and debuting a brand new track of his own: “Ziggy Starfish,” plus three other songs, Mike gave the freestyle treatment to “Curbside,” one of my favorite James Blake tracks live in the studio.

“Curbside” is the third track on Blake’s Love What Happened Here EP, released in 2011.

Truthfully, being there in the moment watching someone spit rhymes live—just off the top of the dome—and listening to the verses unfold and rhymes resolve right in front of you took my appreciation of the art of rap to a whole new level.

Listen to the entire episode of the show and peep the tracklist here. Watch him rack up the bars below.
