Diggin’ This: Mndsgn – “Eggs” (Official Video)

One of my favorite albums of this year, no question, is Mndsgn‘s woozy warmer Yawn Zen, released on the venerable Stones Throw label.

It has an experimental, hip-hop-influenced vibe similar to Endtroducing-era DJ Shadow mixed with the audio heat of Brainfeeder and the visceral heat of Los Angeles.

Ahead of this LP release, Ringgo Anchetta aka Mndsgn (pronounced “mind design”) has also put out a limited-edition cassette entitled Surface Outtakes; a collection of b-sides and unreleased loosies, my favorite track of which is the mind-redesigning track and VHS-fuzzy video, “Eggs.”

Have a watch below.

You can get the Surface Outtakes cassette via Matthewdavid’s Leaving Records here.

Mndsgn’s Yawn Zen is officially released on August 26. Teleport it to your ears here.

(Oh, and judging from this video, Mndsgn should be hanging out more with the Mighty Boosh, it seems like they’ve got similar fashion ideas.)
