Astronauts – “Skydive” (Official Video)
“Skydive” is the sound of a summer’s day gone wrong, then right, then wrong, then right again, according to East London electronic indie-folk band Astronauts aka Dan Carney, formerly of Dark Captain and not a one-man hybrid of the Black Keys.
NASA budget cuts obviously had more impact than we thought on space shuttles for Astronauts.
Listen for those melancholy, arpeggiated guitars that meet an optimistic, electronic drum beat, which are both then later introduced to mournful cello swathes from Bat for Lashes’ Nicole Robson, in the video below.

“Skydive” is released via Lo Recordings on June 2 and is taken from Astronauts‘ upcoming debut album, Hollow Ponds.
