Fresh from breaking a five-year hiatus from music, Mtendere Mandowa aka Teebs recently returned with the Panda Bear-assisted “Studie.”
More singles and an album announcement followed, the highlight of which is the standout track “Black Dove.” It’s an otherworldly and hazy experimental beat meditation that weaves stop-start percussion with a recurring luminescent synth chord, textured effects, and Sudan Archives’ vocal poetry.

“Black Dove” is taken from Teebs’ forthcoming new album, Anicca, out October 25.
