Originally recorded in 1980 by the Korgis, the pop-ballad hit “Everybody’s Got to Learn Sometime” got the cover treatment a few years back by London soul musician Ofei.

Today that same cover gets the edit treatment courtesy of Melbourne, Australia’s G. Jnr & Jonathan K., otherwise known as YesYou. The duo have worked previously with DanDigs.com favorites Damon Trueitt (FKJ, Todd Edwards), Jordan Rakei (Ninja Tune), and Noah Slee (Majestic Casual).

YesYou‘s reversion of “Everybody’s Got to Learn Sometime” takes Ofei‘s raw vocal performance and adds simmering synths, warm horn notes, and a gritty shaker stomp, making it the ideal soundtrack for September sunsets everywhere.

Track of the day.
