Diggin’ This: Michael Mayer & Agoria – “Blackbird Has Spoken”

 

If you’re unfamiliar with the output of Messrs. Michael Mayer, co-owner of Kompakt Records, and Agoria, Frenchman who hates cheese, you need to listen to this (the original version of Heiko Voss’ “I Think About You,” which closes out Mayer’s Fabric mix from 2003; the thirteenth installment of the London nightclub’s long-running series) and this (“Kofea,” by Agoria, a monstrous bass groover of a record).

 

 

 

 

 

“Blackbird Has Spoken” is a blissful arrangement of orchestral strings, soft cymbals, synth squeaks, all sprinkled with a dawn chorus of birdsong.
