Diggin’ This: P. Morris – “Daydream”

“Daydream” is a brand new, beautifully strange track from Kansas-born, LA-based producer P. Morris.

Opening with a vocal screech that sounds like it would be more at home on an old-school rave record, we then dive underwater, muted and muffled synths floating past us as an R&B pattern begins to take shape and “Daydream” slowly begins to make sense. I’m filing this one alongside these two of my favorite future beat-makers: Mura Masa and Photay.

Track of the day.

P. Morris – “Daydream”

P. Morris has certainly been busy. So far this year he’s released his POP/MORRIS mixtapes, produced the BC Kingdom x Mila J song “Ninja” off their Press Start EP, collaborated with Chilly Gonzales, did a split EP with Sweater Beats, and went on tour with Shy Girls and FKA Twigs.

“Daydream” is taken from the six-track Daydream EP available June 30 on Bear Club Music Group.
