Mr. Carmack – “Don’t Push Me Cuz I’m Close to the Edge”

 

To the untrained eye or ear, looking at the length of this track and song title may make this seem like a throwaway beat jam at first, but if you know the production chops of Hawaii’s Mr. Carmack, you’ll know better.

 

 

 

Clocking in at just 1min 40sec, “Don’t Push Me Cuz I’m Close to the Edge” initially just sounds like a simple, sped-up flip of the Grandmaster Flash original, “The Message.” But then at 0min 46sec, the track mutates into into the sickest of slippery bass slops.

 

Definitely one for the rewind.
