Connecting via Instagram during the pandemic, Huddersfield producer Barney Lister (who has worked with Obongjayar and Joy Crookes) and South London vocalist Kojo Degraft-Johnson (who has sung with Little Simz and Cleo Sol) are the Brixton-based MRCY.

 

 

“Lorelei” is the pair’s debut single.

 

 

Says Barney on the duo’s sound: “It’s like hearing a distant memory,

 

But one that speaks to where you are now.”
