Shabazz Palaces – “They Come In Gold”

“One picture is worth a thousand swerves…”

The redefinition of slick.

Cannot wait for the new Shabazz Palaces album, Lese Majesty, especially after hearing the alien machinery of brand new track “They Come in Gold.”

Seattle experimental hip-hop duo Palaceer Lazaro aka Ishmael Butler (once upon a time of Digable Planets) and Tendai Maraire’s last album, Black Up, was my number one favorite LP of 2011.

If you haven’t heard it, do so immediately; it’s very, very essential listening.

Lese Majesty is out on Sub Pop on July 29.

(I still think their song titles are impossible to tell apart from William Wordsworth poems.)
