‘The Milk’ Knows You Got Soul: Essex, Hugs & Rock ‘N’ Roll

Rather pleased with that title.

Dear The Milk, if you ever want to use that as a name for a future album, single, or racehorse, you’re quite welcome.

The Milk: Always up for a cuppa.

The Essex, UK band bring the sound of summer a few months early (and we’re forever grateful) with retro soul barnburner ‘(All I Wanted Was) Danger’ and a horn-boombastic, sunny skanktastic (on a roll here) cover of Toots and the Maytals legendary ’54 46′.

The Milk – ‘(All I Wanted Was) Danger’

I like their style. A pint and a cheeky sleepy sleep in a dusty pub is always a great idea.

The Milk – ’54 46′

Love it. Find out more about their Brad (of The Nextmen) Baloo-produced album here.

And catch ’54 46′ as the opener of the Dig Deep with Dan Digs UK music radio show on KBCS 91.3FM Seattle on Saturday April 16 by simply clicking here. It’s a lot like clicking on the above YouTube clip but more radioey.

Don’t be fooled by the name, The Milk are upfront soul, summer, and danger all in a glass.
