Album of the Week: Soweto Gospel Choir & Groove Terminator – History of House (Umculo House/Music is Fun)
A collection of dance music classics reinterpreted through a Southern African lens.
The Soweto Gospel Choir, Australian DJ Groove Terminator, and Grammy-winning producer Latroit‘s new album History of House covers anthems such as Candi Staton’s “You Got the Love,” Bob Sinclar’s “World Hold On,” and Ultra Naté’s “Free,” all recorded in different languages from the subcontinent and all given an Afro-house and/or Amapiano twist.
Here’s my favorite song from the release.
History of House is out now via Umculo House/Music is Fun.
