Album of the Week: Finn Rees – Dawn Is a Melody (Mr Bongo Worldwide)

 

One of the best jazz albums of 2024 by one half of the Melbourne, Australia dance duo Close Counters.

 

 

 

Dawn Is a Melody is the debut album from the Melbourne-via-Tasmania musician Finn Rees, who has played keys for 30/70 Collective and Allysha Joy.

 

 

It’s a stunning, dextrous display of vivid orchestral jazz.
